Just read an article from the Los Angeles Times stating that Youtube which is now owned by Google is now entering the subscription business and has plans to allow content creators to charge an online monthly fee to bring a broader range of entertainment to the site.

The fee for such content will be as low as $1.99 a month but majority of the videos will remain free.
